Anybody keeping up with this?
I'm wondering if the combination of the Intel, IW and IP communities will require those of us who have been in one, will still qualify. |

Hey, sir, fancy seeing you here!
According to the IW OCM, from 08-12FEB10 (next week!) at CID Corry Station, "SMEs representing the four communities underneath the IDC umbrella will review community specific qualification standards and develop the draft qualification standard that will serve as a pre-requisite for earning the IDC Qualification Pin." A followup message indicated, "Though OPNAV N2/N6 is running point, the process as communicated to me will follow what we did for the IWOQP. Workshop develops PQS, CID refines it, posts it on the web and sends a message allowing interested participants to make comment. Once Fleet input is addressed, community leaders will endorse and community sponsor will approve. IDC OCMs will be working on implementation instruction (with OPNAV), which is of greatest interest ATT." I would assume that after that, there might be some more information forthcoming. There was another long thread here with some interesting discussions about various implications for this pin... |

Indeed! Although I'm not surprised to see you here.
I was wondering about the ramifications of the "combined" qualifications on those old-timers like me, who would've been grandfathered in on the Intel Pin, due to our previous qualifications and wartime service. I'm getting too old, and too short for additional schools, etc. |

I know it's been a hot topic...I would imagine that would among the things they'll be discussing this week. The community OCMs should know more about where things stand after this meeting. I'm kind of curious myself, since I'll probably be going through the whole process!

That's the Intel PQS and it's from March 2009.
