Have any of you received a formal letter of congratulations or welcome to the community from the Flag deck?

That would be a negative. The only thing I ever got was a letter from Personnel Command saying that I got the Lat Transfer.

Nothing Else.

Nothing received from anyone to date. And communications with the detailer are sparse.

I was selected in the July board and only got a formal notice that my designator changed to 1640 from NPC.

Same as above.

I got picked up in last July's board, and the most I've seen was a letter from NPC. I haven't even received that letter via physical copy; I just noticed one day it was posted online in my Web-Enabled Record Review.

This is how it was done in the past. LINK This evolved to a more personal letter on the Flag's personal stationary. Hopefully, we will see a comeback of these letters as the community bond is re-established.

I got selected from the Fall 2008 board and got a flag letter (RADM Leigher) soon after. It was a 6" x 9", on nicer than normal paper, congratulating my selection and welcoming me into the community. Of course it was one of those "signed" letters.
