Some quotes:
Quote:
A more advanced, undergraduate-level training program will begin in June to train officers and enlisted personnel for a new Air Force career field in cyber operations, Kehler said.
Quote:
The more advanced training will last six months and include skills currently taught to communications operators plus additional skills in computer networks and vulnerabilities. That will be followed by more specific training.
Quote:
The first class will include about 16 officers. Kehler said several sessions are planned each year because the Air Force will need to produce about 400 officers annually with skills in cyberwarfare.

Thanks 1610MATROS - I've been searching for the ULTRA association with the first 10thFleet and here it is...

FYI:
I first heard about the ULTRA use by 10th Fleet in a talk given by Rich Haver to an NRO-NAVY Conference in 2003. He decribed the dark days of U-boat sinking merchants at will in the Atlantic and how desperate the situation was, despite the fact the ULTRA info was available. According to Haver, Adm King created 10th Fleet with a group of some smart folks ( I understand some were quadraplegic, on wheel chairs) to generate ASW orders to LANTFLEET. The challenge was to use every conceivable cover trick in the book to make sure ULTRA was protected as a source.

The main point that Haver made, was that the data was available to break the U-boat threat, and he cited the various stick-card-sorting methods (can be seen at Suitland archives) that were used to sort through the card decks. He bridged this story to today, saying that today we are faced with another threat, the data is there, and that we need to be clever on how we "sort it" to find the target.
