Don't know the rationale behind the name, but it gets utilized at the back end of every board. IW selected against all quotas without using this program, but other communities that do not enjoy such a healthy applicant pool make use of it.

Just wondering when the selectees from the NOV board should expect to hear from the accesessions detailer. I've sent a couple of emails with nothing heard, just curious if they have to wait until formal notification from PERS before the can communicate with the new selectees.

You should be getting a letter from the Flag deck welcoming you to the community. I think the process takes a month or two.

I was selected as a Lat Xfer on the June board. I never got a letter from anyone but have been talking with Mike since then. I'm still waiting on my command to work it out with the Aviation community to release me so I'm still technically a 1300. Mike has been great about answering questions and been helpful. They get busy sometimes, but has been good about getting back to me.

Gato
I've got a couple of emails in to him, but I figure he's busy dealing with sorting out of the new lat xfers and the post holiday rush of work. I guess I'll just hang tight and see what happens. I don't think getting released from my community will be an issue based on my current duty station, just ready to get an idea of where I will be headed. Thanks for the input.

Not sure about school dates for you, but seems pretty easy to get penciled in for a class. I'm penciled in for April with the assumtion that PERS 43 will release me by then. For your first tour, Mike told me that because of the stand up of cyber fleet, everyone is getting orders to Fort Meade. Not what I wanted to hear, but oh well. I'm just excited to get out of the Pentagon and get started.

Fort Meade is not exactly what I wanted to hear either. It would be second on my list, but I would prefer to go to San Antonio. But like you said, oh well, just ready to move on to bigger and better things.

I'd wait for orders in hand before I made any definite plans. "Everyone" going to Ft Meade may not include you.

Concur with MATROS. When I came in, "everyone" was going to a magnet site (site with watchfloor and DIRSUP missions). Three of my CDOC classmates went to San Diego, one went to Winter Harbor, one went to Menwith Hill, and I went to Yokosuka.

Its amazing I ever qualified considering I never did find that watchfloor in Yoko...
